Notes
Purpose of the visit in Bulyowa village, Manuela went to this village to teach about the importance of managing Emmotions. This lesson is aimed at educating participants so that they can learn the different ways of managing their emotions than causing sin out of not managing their emotions and anger. Manuela reached the village, she found members seated, she greeted them and requested for one volunteer to pray, after prayers Manuela apologized for not being able to come and teach previously, because she had lost her paternal uncle , but the participants told her it’s okay, just take heart and be strong because once God has decided, no man can change the plan. Manuela appreciated them for their prayers and calls to check on her while in the village . After that, Manuela asked participants about the previous lessons, some members were able to share their ideas which was good. Manuela introduced another lesson on emotion and how they can manage their emotions, Manuela asked the participants to list down all the emotions that they know, participants said answers like guilt, love, pain, fear, passion, regret, sadness, jealousy etc, After that exercise of brain storming, Manuela asked them that how do they manage their emotions , they sighted answers like crying, moving away from the sin then come back later, keeping quiet one of the woman said for her if she gets annoyed with her husbands, she packs her things and go to her parents home. After brain storming, Manuela explained to the participants that Emotions are mental reactions ( such as anger or fear) marked by strong feelings and usually causing physical effects, Manuela continued to explain to the participants that, if the anger is not managed well it can lead to problems that can lead to hatred, poverty, accidents, poor health, imprisonment, sickness disunity etc in the community, while Manuela was explaining to the participants the effects of un controlled emotions like anger grief love and pain , Manuela told them that it’s not easy to learn to managed such strong feelings like emotions mentioned above, but it’s very important to develop ways of managing our emotions for example Manuela told them they can pray to God, think about the situation, think of the funny story, walk away from the sin and come later, try to communicate and resolve the situation and finally but not list , stop and analyze why they are really angry , Manuela told them that if they practice such behavior, then they will able to promote love and unity amongst them selves. After that, Manuela asked the participants questions about the lessons, how was today’s lesson? one of the participants said it’s was good and educative . He also said that they will try to manage their emotions because they have been having issues in their village many people have got problems because they have failed to manage their emotions, one also said I burnt the hand of my step child after stealing five hundred shillings, but because she was very annoyed, she did that then she realized it after that she had done something wrong. Participants said they are going to try learn on how they can managed their emotions, love and anger. Finally, she appreciated them for participating well in class and keeping time, she encouraged them to always manage their emotions so that to be free from problems, she advised the parents that since they are in Christmas season, Manuela told them to be careful not to commit any sin during this festival. She asked parents to buy clothing and meat for their families members, and if they don’t have the money let them discuss as family members than fighting.
