To access participants and get to know what is their plans and how will they follow the steps in guiding them achieve their goals.
Notes
Purpose of the visit in Naibowa village, Manuela went to this village to carry out home to home teaching, this exercise will enable the family members to be free with Manuela and share with her about their plans and the steps they intend to use, Manuela will be able to know where the participants stay. Manuela reached the village and went direct to the VHT home so that they can start their work, from that home, Manuela and the VHT went to the first home but unfortunately they were still in the garden even the second and third home, reaching the four home, they found when they have just returned from the garden, they welcomed Manuela and gave her a seat Shortly, they came, Manuela asked them about the previous lessons that she taught them, one of the participant mentioned that they learnt about steps in making good decisions, but they did not finish because members wanted Manuela to move home to home so that they share with them their plans. Manuela thanked her, and even the rest were good and managed to share their views with Manuela, after that Manuela asked the mothers around that what plans do they have for next year and which steps are they going to use? One of the woman said for her, she plans to rear pigs, the steps she used is to consider the family values and religion values, she said she is not a muslin and in her family they do eat pork so that Decision will not affect her plans. Another woman who is pregnant said that, for her she would like to plant vegetables like greens, egg plants, onion and tomatoes the steps she decided on is to consult other farmers who practice the same methods of farming. Then the men, around said that for them they plan to lay bricks so that they can sell and pay school fees for their children, Manuela asked them how much is one brick?, they said 200 shilling, Manuela asked them what steps have they decided on, they said they will consult others and think about the situation if it will work out for them. After those homes, Manuela moved to another home, she met three people, she greeted them and they were able to share their ideas with her about their plans, since they were ready waiting for Manuela they didn’t wast time, Manuela asked them about the previous lesson, they were able to share their ideas, one of the participant said for him, he want to improve on his farming methods by using fertilizer, so that he can improve on his crop yield so that to promote the standard of his family. Manuela asked the mother, she said that is their plans so that they can take their children to good schools. Manuela asked them how many children do they have?, they said six, how about the steps you plan to use Manuela asked them? the woman said since they are Muslim they would consider religious values, they will not use any fertilizer made from pig pop, they will also consult fellow farmers to guide them about that. Due to time, Manuela moved in few homes, since on that day, Lorna had some problems on her way to the village, and Manuela was trying to help her out so that she can reach the village, that also limited her from covering good numbers of homes. After, Manuela told the the VHT to inform the rest of the participants that next time better, Lorna will teach them about Role model and Life Story. Manuela and Lorna will when to carry out again that exercise.
