Notes
Tom visited igerera village to make a first visit to the village to introduce kibo/clts to the village. He first passed by the sub-county to pick up the health assistant who introduced Tom to the sub-county chief and the parish chief. They also met other government officials before they left for the village. When they reached the village, they met with the chairman of the village, the defense and secretary as well as the women representative on the village committee. They shared with them about sanitation and hygiene and the chairman said that surely they have a problem of poor sanitation and hygiene in the village. He also said that some residents have what they call latrines but they are below standard and very risky. Tom shared with them about the intentions of kibo to work with the community to improve on their sanitation and hygiene. The chairman also talked about kibo through the mvule program where he said they are very appreciative of the program because they were able to plant trees as well as getting the goats and he promised to work together with Kibo to improve the sanitation standards of igerera village. After the meeting, Tom and the government officials left the village. The government officials also expressed their appreciation towards Kibo for the great work Kibo has done in Namutumba district.
