Notes
Harriet and Avery went Bulyowa with a plan with the Community Development Officer (CDO) to introduce the stove program to Bulyowa. village. The CDO had mobilized the community for the meeting and by 10 am they had already gathered. Unfortunately Harriet delayed on the way because all the routes to Bulyowa were blocked because they were broken as a result of heavy rains so they were being worked on. She had to use another route through Matyama Town council which was far. Despite the delay Harriet kept in touch with the community and were able to wait for her. The Community development officer introduced Harriet to this community. He encouraged them to work as a team if they are to achieve development. In the meeting Harriet told them her intentions to work in their village through the stove program. She taught them the goals and objectives of the stove program. This was intended to assess whether the community is interested in the program. The community was very excited about the stove program and one man called Samson Kako told Harriet that their wives go through many challenges as they cook food for the family may be this program would benefit them. The community also agreed to meeting on Monday theoretical lessons and later changes to Wednesday when its time for practical lesson. The meetings will always begin at 11:30am under a mango tree where they always meet from.
