Notes
Alex first met with the sub county leaders at Bulange sub county offices. While there he met with the sub- county internal security officer, the health assistant, the community development officer and the sub county chief. He had gone there to pick some government officials to move with and attend the village meeting and also witness what Kibo has done in Buluvu village. The sub county officials are happy for the support and work Kibo is doing in the the villages of Bulange sub county including Buluvu village and kisiro village. Alex and the community members discussed about the borehole contributions and hearing from the water user committee chairperson, the village has already contributed 300,000/= for the borehole account. Alex was happy to hear that all the people contributed this money together and this is a good sign of community responsibility and sense of ownership. Together they discussed why everybody should be part of the whole borehole as the borehole coming up belongs to the whole community and not for a few people or for an individual. Alex reminded the people that attended the meeting to maintain their sanitation facilities emphasizing what the sanitation committee chairman, Mr Lukeman and Jowelia encouraged the people to maintain their homes and sanitation facilities and vowed to keep encouraging everyone moving home to home to ensure people have these facilities. It was such a great thing to hear from the village members encouraging their fellow members to maintain their sanitation facilities. The sanitation committee members told the rest of the community members to remember how Kibo group through Tom helped the village to attain the current sanitation status and reminded everyone never to go back to old times of open defecation. Alex then told the community members to have a community meeting and decide on the locations for the borehole survey. He broke the news to the community that the surveying process will soon take and will have to be ready for this process. He will go back for another meeting with the community preparing them for the survey and look at the locations that the community has agreed upon to be considered while water surveying in the village.
