Notes
When Alex B.arrived to the village, he found the village leaders of Maliga upper waiting for him at the usual meeting place. They had a prayer together that was led by Fiida the chairperson. They discussed how to move for the mission of checking up with the members how they prepared their holes for the trees they will plant. Alex and the members decided to go in one direction. They started with Pande Peter who dug four holes and filled one with manure. He did not space the holes as it is required but filled them with good mixture of manure. Alex and the committee members advised him to plant two mvule and two musizi trees. The rest of the members joined them and they continued to check up with other members. They checked twenty one members and some made their holes right and some not good. They advised them were necessary. It was noted that some dug the holes close to their neighbours. The committee members advised those that dug next to their neighbours to plant musizi instead of Mvule. There is a family that shares a family land which doesn’t have a permanent boundary. The members in this family dug holes for mvule and musizi trees but they agreed on the numbers each to plant. There is one member who dug the holes close along the road for mvule but the group advised him to plant musizi only since it does not spread branches wide like mvule which might affect the road. Alex B besides looking at the holes, also intentionally wanted to know the homes of the members where they stay. Alex and the committee members couldn’t go further as it was already past three o’clock. Those that had not finished to prepare their holes were asked to do it. The members were excited for the exercise as they were being advised to put right the holes by there fellow members. The members asked when the trees will be delivered to them for planting. Alex B told them to be ready with holes. Alex and the committee members agreed together next time to continue with the exercise of checking up other members.
