- Notes
- Enock went with Falon to check on the progress of hand washing constructing and other facilities like latrine presence, use and maintenance, shower areas, dish racks, kitchen areas, cloth lines, clean compounds, availability of rubbish pits as well as continuous sensitization and teaching sustainability of all the facilities. As we reached we went home to home checking on new hand washing facilities and encouraging those who do not have to also construct one. There are so many residents who have really managed to construct good structures of the latrine. They have used sand, cement and brick to give their structures more durability against hash weather conditions like heavy rainfall and strong winds which break dawn. There are over 20 new hand washing facilities in homes, they are constructed and under use. Although some people managed to construct them, they used small poles to construct the stands/ hand washing stations. We encouraged them using a picture taken from their fellow residents who constructed a good standard hand washing station. This was a good example of the best hand washing facilities. Most people admired it and decided to also reconstruct a Hand washing station with good and strong poles because of its durability. Most people have embraced the program and there is a great impact made. I was so impressed to see that even the new chairman is busy working towards improving his home, their is a new dish racks and shower are well constructed unlike before. He is setting a standard of a good leader. As I was busy teach, evaluating, monitoring and encouraging the residents, Falon was busy with the work of taking good pictures of the facilities constructed say latrine, dish racks, shower areas, kitchen areas, rubbish pits and more to properly document the progress of this village. The people of this village are so grateful and appreciative for the great work kibo group is doing in their homes and entire village. Most people have realized the benefits of having good standard facilities.
