- Notes
- Abraham met thirty four Bukoma A community members and they discussed making their by-laws which will guide them to write their constitution. Many have been not attending the meeting regularly and they decided that if a member does not come to the meeting three consecutive days without a proper reason he or she will be asked to pay a fee of one thousand five hundred shillings and that mean day is five hundred shillings. They came up with time of meeting and they said they will be meeting at 1:00pm and leave at 2:30pm, if they have a pressing need they will be leaving at 3:00pm.
Abraham advised them to get a book in order to keep their minutes and they decided that each member will bring one thousand shillings to help buy the meeting minute books, pens and have some money to feed visitors when the come to visit them.
The chairman told the group that they have a problem as a village because after the government local council one election the one who was elected is also a member of the group but the former chairman has refused to hand over the government items to the new chairman and that has brought a problem in the village. Abraham asked the members if the former chairman is around but they said he is not around. The new chairman asked Abraham if he can come and unite them because since the election they do not greet each other. Abraham encouraged them not take much time in politics because they are going to be divided, he told them to mobilize so that they can meet all the members to discuss together how they can work together as a village. They suggested that before things go the government let it be settled by the community members together with Kibo. Some members from the group will contact the former chairman and they will set a date of meeting next week.
