Notes
David and Dario the Kibo visiter from German along with Steven were in the village to check on the latrine construction. They moved through the trading centre heading to the lower section of the village. They were joined by the parish councilor mr Muwadha who lead them into the different homes in the lower section . They moved in about 67 homes checking and encouraging with what they thought would be done. Unfortunately out of the 67 homes they visited to about 12 homes were affected by the strong rains and their toilets were seen on the ground fallen. When the Kibo staff reached the homes which were affected ,for example mr OkothSilasihome,Bageya Gorge ,Mbeyera Lameka, and Yowana ,s homes they were happy for the them because they had had started digging new toilets aside. As the Kibo staff continued with their home to home movements, they noted that the following people were still practicing open deification Mr Babalanda Tabbi, Bogere Lameka, and Ntalo Rogers. They talked to their wives who were present to communicate later to their husbands .Such that in two weeks time they will have finished digging there latrines. They also continued and encouraged them to use good stronger construction materials . The reason behind it all was that since their ground surface was Sandy ,it wasn’t stronger enough to hold the bottom surface of their toilets. On addition to that when they crossed the other side of road . They met mr Nyongesa Wanswa .He was a very complicated man in the area who finished digging his toilet but doesn’t want to put a shelter around it. Even the house it self wasn’t good it was showing signs of falling anytime . The Kibo staff only met the wife who was around . The wife of mr Nyongesa Wanswa said that she was tired of pleading for her husband to rehabilitate on their house as well as finishing with the construction of a shelter around their latrine. In general according to David ,Steven and Dario,s assessments ,there was more sanitation improvements in the upper section of the village than the lower part .Which was strongly affected by the heavy rains and winds.Due to the limited time factor the Kibo staff left the village wishing them the best as they get to start working to improve on their sanitation standards.
