Notes
Tom made a visit to kisiro. Ill age to check on sanitation and hygiene improvements as well as checking on facility constructions in the village. When he arrived, he was joined by the committee members who decided that they move in the section of the village called isamba. In the first few homes visited, they found when one resident called Seya has started on constructing his latrine structure while in one home of an old woman, her latrine was only remaining roofing. In one other home, they have started on the construction of their latrine. Only the walls are done and still roofing remains to fully finish the latrine. As they moved around the village, they were also sensitizing residents about the standards of the facilities especially the latrines, dish racks and other facilities. They were most especially putting much emphasis on encouraging the residents to put a roof on their latrines as they are prone to collapsing during the rain season if they are not roofed after a strong storm. From the isamba section they also visited another small section of the village where they found several pits fully dug but only one latrine has been constructed on. The councilor of the village has also improved on his old latrine by adding to it’s height as well as constructing a roof on the latrine. The other neighbors with the three pits also promised that soon they will be constructing their latrines. After Tom left for jinja
