Ws Notes
David was in the village. His intention of going there was to monitor and check on the sanitation progress within the homes in the lower section which were lagging behind. When David reached the village he was joined by the chairman of the borehole to move around the different homes. He was encouraging the people about sanitation improvements and maintenance of their facilities. David and the chairman of the borehole first visited mr Walubi Richards home. They found that he had finished the construction of his latrine walls ,shower area and the rubbish pit. He only had left to roof his latrine .From there David and the chairman of the borehole moved to the home of mr Ben Kilya . That home was one of the homes which was lagging behind. The Kibo staff were happy with him because he had dug also a 15 feet deep. He was only left to construct the shelter.David encouraged him to double his efforts because the set deadline date was only three weeks. They also visited mr Frank Watongola,s home. They found him when he was still digging his latrine pit and it was 5 feet deep.He told the Kibo staff that he was requesting them to give him a grace period of two weeks .He did so because he wanted to also help his mother by constructing for her a new latrine pit because she didn’t have one .David replied to him by saying that ,it will depend on his efforts but the deadline date was too close. They continued and visited the other different home which was lagging behind but good enough they had some good sanitation progress. As David was heading out of the village they got a chance to meet one member who had promised to contribute for the village 150,000 shillings towards their borehole account. They told the Kibo staff and the chairman of the borehole that he was in position to give for his village such a great contribution.David was so much encouraged and thanked him for that generous heart. After that the chairman of the borehole told David that they had contributed 250,000 towards their borehole contribution. In general out of the twenty homes David and the chairman of the borehole visited, there was great progress and improvements.
