Notes
To made a visit to kalitumba village tomcheck on facility constructions especially the roofing of latrine with iron sheets. When he arrived in the village, he found the vht and the committee members waiting for him at the treasurer’s home. They first met and discussed about the progress of roofing the latrines and they said the major problem was that they had one person in the village who does construction yet he visits the bar often many times which is slowing the work of roofing and construction. Mr John is the builder and even Tom made several attempts to meet him, it was all in vain. But, Tom and the committee members were able to see some several new latrines that have been roofed. Some of them are waiting for the second iron sheet so they do the construction at once while others are improving on other facilities as well. Tom also checked on hand washing facilities encouraging them about better ways of constructing them. Tom and the committee members also were involved in settling a dispute over land betweenness son and a father concerning where to dig a pit for a latrine. The son said his father refused him from digging and constructing a latrine on his fathers property yet the father says he has never refused his son to do so. Tom requested one of the committee members and the chairman to hold a family meeting to resolve the issues. Tom and the committee members also found a newly dug pit about 30ft and the resident said he will be starting the construction soon. After Tom left for jinja.
