Enock visited this community to check on sanitation improvement in this community. When he reached, he met with the chairman LC1 and VHTs called Muwada to walk in the trading centre and some homes in the lower section to check if their is any progress in latrine construction. There are many new latrines that we saw in the trading centre compared to the time before we triggered. This shows a lot of progress in this community, this has lead to reduce of open defection and proper use of latrines. There are three homes which we saw building their new latrines. Those with good standard latrines were taught to use ash in their latrines to chase flies and also reduce the bad smell which attracts flies. Enock also emphasized the use of cement on the top of shower structures to add more resilience and strength. Most of the residents in the trading centre sweep their yards than before. There are many new shower areas some ladies gave us testimonies about how they are able to take showers during day than before when they used to wait for only the night to come or use the near by bushes. During our visit, we also encouraged behavior change and taught the residents to construct sustainable facilities, the community members are embracing the program working hard to improve on their sanitation and hygiene. We also visited homes in the Lower section to check on latrines constructed.
