- Tom made a visit to kishaike village to meet with the village leaders and discuss with them about triggering and how to mobilize the village. Tom also wanted to discuss with them about how triggering was going to be conducted in the village. Before, there were concerns about kibo working in the kishaike village alone and leaving buganza village. Buganza village is a recent section cut from the former kishaike village. The challenge of working In kishaike section/village is that some vhts live in buganza while others in kishaike. During the meeting, Tom and the village leaders first addressed that issue were The leaders from both villages asked kibo to work in both. Tom agreed to that as both villages would be considered as one village under former kishaike. This made both village leaders happy from both sides. They also shared about how,to mobilize the village when it comes to sanitation and hygiene. Tom suggested to the village leaders to be creative enough in mobilizing the residents but also not to offer any promises to the people as regards kibo and the sanitation and hygiene program. Tom also encouraged the village leaders to start the mobilization early enough so that people can easily remember the day as well as plan well for that day. The chairmen from both villages took the responsibility for the mobilization in there section while the vhts and other leaders also help in the mobilization. On the issue of the fade for triggering, there were some challenges as some Leaders were suggesting a Thursday which Tom said it could not work for kibo staff members. Later a date was decided to be on the Wednesday of the 13. Tom advised the committee members not to use a scaring language to the residents as it would affect the attendance but rather encourage the residents to come even to those that might fear. This was brought up after one members suggested that some people were getting scared that they would be arrested for the lack of latrines. Tom emphasized the fact that kibo was going to create friendship and relationships through the sanitation program rather that arresting people. After the meeting, Tom left for jinja.
