Anger Lesson 4: Why in the world did I do that?
Notes
Ida and Irene went to Nabikenge and taught about how to handle anger. Irene did the preview and the community had forgotten some things. Nabirye amused the community when asked was anger and she answered by throwing down the chairs, stamping her feet and shouting. At first Ida and Irene thought something went wrong but Nabirye herself said that she couldn’t explain what anger is but was showing them what she does when angry. Ssegonga said that anger is something that comes after being annoyed. How do you deal or handle anger? Ida asked . Prossy said that she throws objects and shouts. Kateme said that she cries.Isabirye said that he beats, kicks or slaps anyone who has angered him. Ida gave some guidelines to help handle anger. 1. Calm down.Since the other person is out of control, your being calm will give the other person stability and strength. 2. Listen to the other person .When you listen, do so not only with your ears but also with your eyes and heart. Failure to handle anger kept Moses out of the promised land.(Numbers 20:12) We can learn to be in control our angry feelings. We can choose to take the thoughtful approach and practice holding back our anger until we decide if and how to express it. Ida left the community with a memory verse for the week to meditate upon.Ephesians 4:26.
