- David and Steven were in igerera . They had gone to help the village by opening up the borehole and discovering out what was the problem which had caused the flow of the water to stop. When David and Steven reached the village they first called for the water user committee members. The Kibo staff did so because they wanted the committee members to be around as witnessers before David and Steven would go ahead to open up the borehole . When the chairman of the borehole mr Kaliza Michael , the secretary Mwesigwa Elusaniya and the mobilizer mr Bawule Silvester turned up . Therefore David and Steven carried out the whole process of opening up of the borehole. However after David and Steven had finished the opening process this is what they discovered . All the 7 rods we’re rotten, centralizers ,The foot valve in the cylinder and the cylinder it’s self had holes letting the water to flow back, bolts and the head assembly. Having done all that the Kibo staff showed the committee members all the parts which were faulty . David and Steven returned back all the internal parts which they had removed out of the borehole. Because after Henry , David and Steven had left the village, the chairman of the borehole mr Kaliza Micheal got some one who repairs the motorcycle in the trading centre because of the water stress problem which was there in the village. The motorcycle mechanic instead he just welded the top rod which was another big problem. Therefore whenever the members would try to pump instead the rods were just cracking and continued breaking down . However David called the water user committee members for a brief heads up .Because time had gone . Therefore David promised the village that they will be calling them for a borehole general meeting . David thought that the village general meeting will be good when everyone is present. The Kibo staff had also noticed that the committee members were not knowing their full roles and responsibilities towards their borehole. The borehole status was not good because the compound was extremely dirty and no borehole fence . Also the villages borehole account wasn’t active because there was no money on their account. In general the hygiene and sanitation of the village was good.Except for the few homes which were still working on their latrine pits . However the village-was left while they were organizing themselves for the next proposed village borehole meeting.
