Kagulu village is at a level of getting prepared to have a new borehole drilled in their village. Alex was in this village to meet with the water user committee and community members about what the village needs to do before the borehole drilling. Also Alex was to complete the signing of the land agreement where the borehole is to be drilled. The water user committee chairperson Mr. Kighanda Steven reported to Alex that the committee had done all what was asked of them to do like having the village raise 300,000/= start up for the borehole account and all that is needed to take care of the workers. The village has responded very positively towards contributing all the money needed for the borehole drilling. While in the meeting, Alex told all the people to work together and clean the site to be drilled and to make way for the rig making sure all the logs and ant hills are removed. The water point is located in Bukufe section in Kagulu village and Alex decided to move that whole section with the leader checking on every facility in the homes and he encouraged the people to maintain them and smear their facilities too. Since last week when the survey was done in this village, everyone has been extremely happy because they never expected it that soon. In other wards it has been one thing that has motivated all the people in Kagulu village to work very hard and even contribute all the money. The land owner was present but some of the signatories like the next of kin were not present and so the land agreement signing was pushed to the next visit. Together with the water user committee chairman Mr. Steven and the village leader they visited the home of Meme Sam and a very good note he completed his new pit latrine that had been under construction for quite a long time and also the old man known as Beswelli Kyeloba is being helped by his neighbor and now digging a new pit latrine for him. The village looks ready for the next step of borehole drilling and Alex shall continue to prepare the village well and keep in touch with the drilling contractors of when they would be in position to drill in Kagulu.
