- Notes
- Ida and Irene went to Sinde to talk about Oral care as usual Ida started with a recap of the previous lessons then invited Irene to continue with the new lesson.Irene started by asking the community members the meaning of the word teeth, ouma answered and said teeth are teeth, nafula said the things we use to eat food and so many answers on addition to what they said Irene said teeth are bones in the mouth used to bite, chew, grind, food.then continued with the benefits of teeth, nekesa said they help in defense,Incase one is fighting, another member said for opening bottle tops like soda. Irene discouraged the members from using their teeth on other things other than chewing food because they will affect them but said teeth help in giving shape to our faces, speech, protect the Tongue, beauty when laughing or talking and therefore should not be mis-used.Irene then asked the members on how to keep our teeth clean, members said by brushing with a stick, use salt, and ash.on addition Irene said we use a tooth brush and tooth paste, charcoal, soap, and encouraged them to at least brush three times a day.this should be done in the up and down motion following the order of the teeth to avoid damage to the gum.Irene also demonstrated how to use a toothbrush in order to give a clear picture of the topic.Irene then asked the members to ask questions relating to the lesson of the day.several questions were asked like what is the best treatment for a paining tooth?,Incase I had my teeth removed can I replace them or is there medicine to make them grow again? Irene then answered the questions and that summarize our lesson.
