Committee Challenges
The water user committee is inactive claiming that the community does not cooperate and do not have respect for the committee members. The water user committee is very inactive but still present
Operating
yes
Other Committee Notes
The water committee being inactive, they have not accomplished any roles that they are supposed to perform. The borehole status is very poor, no borehole fence, no soak pit and the compound is not as clean. Alex met with only the borehole caretaker who told him about the challenges that they have faced from the water users as a committee. They claim that they have been abused and do not receive any respect from the community members who selected them. This is a big challenge that has caused a big weakness in the water committee and some people wanting to step down
Ws Notes
This water source was early this year rehabilitated by Kibo by adding on pipes, rods, head assembly, new U3 cylinder. 11 months down the road, this borehole does not meet the standards required. No fence and two bolts were stolen by the people putting the borehole at a huge risk of breaking the top rod, bearings and the third plate. The borehole however is still functioning and serves over 200 households, people come from the nearby villages of Nawandagala, Buyoboya and Nkonde.

This borehole is located 3km from the one in Mpumiro which was rehabilitated recently by Kibo. However it has got an issue and can take someone 20 minutes to fill a jerrycan. This borehole is in another village called Buyoboya next to Mpumiro.
One of the homes in Mpumiro that has maintained good standards of hygiene. However most of the homes have gone back and most facilities have broken down.
