Notes
When Alex B arrived at Maliga upper,he found Fidah the chairperson of the group at meeting place. It had rained the previous night after long time and the community members were busy in their gardens since it was a great opportunity for them to receive rains. Alex and Fidah had discussion on how to meet the members since most people were transplanting their rice, planting other crops and some were weeding especially those who planted in the swampy areas. AlexB told Fidah to let the members use that opportunity to work because they were longing and praying for rain. They decided to check with some of the members to see how they are doing in their gardens together with the trees trees they planted from kibo group. The community that day was busy and it was noted that there were some crops that were waiting for rain for them to weed and these crops were millet and groundnuts among others. They managed to see some members weeding their crops and some in the same garden is were they planted the trees. Patricia Wakali planted maize, soybeans and trees together. Alex B advised her to creat space for the mvule tree to receive enough sunshine. Isiko had his trees protected with too much shade to the point, trees were not also receiving enough light. Alex B guided the members about the saving scheme they plan to start. He was unable to meet them because they were busy in the gardens. The visiting of the members in their gardens or homes also helped Alex. B to find out how members were economically planning basing on their gardens.
