- Notes
- David and Steven were in the village. Their intentions of going there was to meet with the water and sanitation committee members from the other government borehole to remind them about their full roles and the responsibilities . The Kibo staff thought by helping to repair the other borehole would reduce on the pressure from the new dug Kibo borehole.
While David and Steven were in the village, they were joined by the chairman of the village and the water and sanitation committee members who lead them to a quite a numbly of homes. In the many homes the team visited ,the Kibo staff were encouraged seeing that the many of the homes had maintained the required set hygiene and sanitation standards.
After the David and Steven’s home to home movements they went for the village borehole meeting. In the meeting the members were reminded about their full roles and the responsibilities towards their borehole. The Kibo staff encouraged the members to enact rules and the regulations governing the sustainability of the borehole.
The village was also encouraged by the Kibo staff to always having evaluation borehole meetings at every end of the month. It would save as away of assessing how they will be progressing.
The Kibo staff continued and encouraged the village by reminding them that it will not be the Kibo to always help them to repair the borehole. Since the village had no money at their borehole account because of the old international parts. They were advised to fully own their borehole by always continuing contributing towards their borehole account.
However they were also reminded to maintain the required sanitation standards. They were reminded not to forget that the good hygiene and the sanitation of the borehole belongs to everyone in the village.
The Kibo staff concluded the meeting while they had left a task with the community to construct a good stronger fence and sock-pit for the borehole as well as the members doing the borehole contributions.
In general according to the hygiene and sanitation of the entire village was good. Except for some homes whose shower areas were affected by the heavy rains.
