- Irene and Ida went to kitukiro to talk about the food and waterborne diseases and Ida started by asking the members the most common fruits eaten at that time and since its a mango season every members answered mangoes. She then asked how many wash the mangoes before eating then only two raised their hands and the rest of the members said it was a lie.
Ida then asked Isabirye what is done before eating the mango and he said they always make sure they remove the outside part of the mango and eat the juicy part which is clean. Namukose said they wipe the mangoes with their clothes. Sara said they put or spite saliva on it and wipe to make it clean.
Ida then invited Irene to continue with the lesson. Irene started by asking them the meaning of food and waterborne diseases, waisanga said diseases we get from eating dirty food and dirty water, Nabirye said diseases we get from eating much food, and many more answers. Irene then asked how food and water can get contaminated.
Many answers were given and Irene explained many more ways through which food and water can be contaminated then asked the members to ask questions as regards the lesson and after Irene requested the members to go inform other members about the lesson and invite them for the next lesson.
