- When Alex B arrived at Maliga upper,he found members waiting for for him at their usual meeting place.They had an opening prayer that was led by George one of the members of the group.
The chairperson person of the group Fidah gave her welcome remarks.She thanked everyone who turned up for the meeting. She reminded the members always to check up with their trees they planted from kibo Group to see how they are doing. The reminder came after experiencing long drought season without rain. She told them that since there was some rain the weed or bush might grow around them that may lead to either be eaten by animals or destroyed by people as they remove grass from their crops.
Alex B thanked the members for the corporation in the group.He told them that it is important for them work together as members in the community and also in the group.He asked them visit one another so that they can learn from how each one cares for the trees.
He thanked them for the idea they came up with in their group of loan and saving scheme.He told them both ideas are good but one is meant to lead the other.The saving scheme should come fast because it will determine the loaning scheme. They should discuss how the loan will be managed like how or who should receive the loan.The issue of how the loan should be paid back should also be discussed on and how it’ll be applied and paid back.He also encouraged them to document what ever they discuss and agree on.
Isiko one of the members suggested that it would be better for them raise more money on their account before they begin to loan out money to members.He also said at the beginning,they ought not to give a loan to anybody outside the group.He said there is need for members to save money because mostly loaning will be determined by the money saved on their group account. It was pat three o’clock and Alex B left for Jinja.
