Notes
David, Steven along with Kayla and Kaitlyn were in the village. They went to continue encouraging the homes which were not yet meeting the standards so that they would get improved .Sanyu Manuel who is one of the members on the sanitation committee welcomed them and there after he led them to the different homes . They visited the following homes.Abinani Makonde,Magino, James Wagibale, Kowa Manuel,Rogers Kawasaki,Dauson Kama, Christopher,Nalukosi and Joshua Engawu,s. In Abinani Makonde’s home the Kibo staff found him when he was constructing anew pit latrine about 15 feet deep. The Kibo staff encouraged him to double his effort since it was a rainy season and his aim was to dig up to 22 feet. In magino,s home they found him while he had finished the construction of his 22feet pit. They encouraged him to construct on it using good construction materials for the sustainability of his latrine. They found that in mr James Wagibale’s home had also finished the construction of his 20 feet pit latrine and even roofed it . They thanked him and advised him also to construct the new design of the dish rack which uses lesser nails. As they were in Kowa Manuel’s home he told them that he was only left with the roofing of his pit latrine. They continued and moved in mr Kawesa Rogers home who had dug a 22 feet deep pit. They encouraged him to also balance his timetable while he will be working on the rest of the other sanitation facilities. They also moved to mr Dauson Kaama’s home . They appreciated him so much because he had the most cleanest home with all the necessary sanitation facilities. The Kibo staff encouraged him to maintain his good sanitation and hygiene facilities . The Kibo staff were discouraged with mr Christopher ‘Nalukosi and Joshua Engawu homes because they were the only homes which still practicing open deification. Therefore David encouraged the owners of the three homes to work hard to improve on their sanitation standards. On addition to that after the Kibo staff’s home to home movements. They went to where the majority of the people had gathered waiting for David ‘s group for the word of advice how they would get better. After David thanking everyone who had turned up for the meeting, he asked the member what should be done for them to meet the set deadline of 13 /06/2019. They concluded their shorter meeting by assigning the sanitation committee members a task that they would be moving four times a week . In conclusion, the village is progressing very well with so many new facilities being constructed by the village residents and yet the program just rolled out in this community. Many people have responded positively in this village so far and the WASH team shall continue to guide the community to come up with these facilities.
