- Notes
- Suzan went to the village to monitor the level of sustainability of the healthy and safe kitchen program, and when she got there, she met a few members gathered at the meeting place who warmly welcomed her to the village.
After exchanging greetings and having a few discussions about the activity of the day, together they agreed and walked around the lower and upper side of the village while monitoring the program facilities.
Most homes had improved on their sanitation and hygiene such as the bathrooms, latrines, kitchens, dish racks which were repaired and well smeared. The stoves were used effectively and the members reported to no longer suffer from smoke inhalation and other heart diseases.
They also said that the stove cooked so fast and used very little firewood for cooking. This was so encouraging to hear and to see that the entire community accepted change and prefers to live a healthy life. Suzan requested the program committee leaders to always monitor other members who hadn’t improved on their facilities and keep encouraging them to do so, so as to live a healthy life with their families.
The members thanked Suzan for the advice given and promised to maintain their sanitation and hygiene as much as possible. The meeting then came to an end with the community wishing Suzan a safe journey back home.
