Notes
Enock and Martin visited this community to continue teaching, sensitizing, encouraging and guiding the residents to improve on their sanitation facilities and building good standard facilities. There are so many new facilities constructed in the shorts time for example new latrines have greatly increased and the people are using them, there are new shower constructed with bricks and this favors many people to take showers during the day. There are also new hand washing stations with are constructed with bricks and cement. This shows how many people have embraced the program and working towards improving their sanitation levels. As we continued walking around, we taught the benefits of using ash in their latrines to chase flies, emphasized the use of rubbish pits and dish racks to dry their dishes under the sunlight before they are taken back to the house. There are leaders in this community who are taking the lead, encouraging their fellow residents to work hard for their community. During this visit, we reminded the residents about the core values of sanitation, emphasized good standard facilities. There are so many good structures which are looking great. Martin taught the importance of soak pits and how to dig one next to shower area. I was so impressed to see a new family which has just moved to this village constructing all the facilities before they enter their new home.
