- Alex B met thirty two members of Bupaluka about how they will keep records when they are through with opening group bank account.
He advised them as it is important for the members to make personal saving.He told such help them to save for school fees for their children. When one member fall sick,it will help them to meet hospitals bills.Also when there is lack of food or time for planting such saving can help to buy seeds. He told develop a mind that want to save money mostly with the bank.The only safe place would be the bank because money in the bank is well planned.He advised them that all the money from the group project would be better fast to be save with group account. Later saving scheme will done since they would have learnt the benefit of saving as individuals and a group. It would be better for them to begin by developing interest in saving.It should begin with things that are sold out for money.once they have what sell then they will have what to save.
Living one of the members said that since their income is from mostly agriculture,it will better after making the sells to save with the bank.He said it is risk to keep money in the house.One if the risk would the money to be stolen or to be spent extravagantly.
Saul suggested that the local way people keep their money in the box as a registered group is not good.He said what is expected to be sold demonstration group garden would be better to kept in the bank. When one begins to save,he or she will develop and end up saving more money.
They also gave a report about their demonstration garden project of soybeans and cassava.They reported as it was promising.
