Notes
Alex was in Nabituluntu for the supervision of borehole drilling, this is the second time carrying out the borehole drilling in this community after the first one failed to work because the water couldn’t clear. Draco drilling company came in to do this job again and see if it can succeed. They started the work on the 21/12/2017 and worked until late in the night. By the end of 22/12/2017, they had managed to dig up 36M. However, it was still a big challenge since the formation was not very difficult,It was collapsing and also a very hard rock that was not easy to penetrate. They hit the first water fracture at 15M and it was observed to be a lot of water from what was observed. But unfortunately the water was very dirty mixed in with the collapsing mud. Also there was a very hard rock that could not allow the temporary casings to go through and yet it is the casings that have to be used to block the collapse of the mud into the hole. They tried all ways to block the collapse but it couldn’t work. It therefore needed a special type of temporary casings to go through this rock that they requested from Kampala to help them to continue with the work. They decided to wait until those casings come in before they continue with the work. The work was expected to resume on the 23/12/2017. On a good note, there is a lot of hope that they will succeed from this site according to the driller’s observation.
