Notes
Martin went to Kishaike to check on the sanitation and hygiene improvement in that village. He walked around that village with the Chairman LC1 and the VHTs, to what is going on about the sanitation facilities like the construction of latrines, dish racks, rubbish pits, kitchens and shower facilities. Good enough, the big number of homes have worked so hard on the latrine constructions, rubbish pits, kitchens and shower areas. But on the side of the dish racks, few homes have worked on them, because kibo taught them how to construct a movable dish rack to eliminate termites destroying them within a few days. The community members told the group that they have seen the value of the movable dish racks. They are busy contributing the money for buying nails and constructing them. Martin and the group were encouraging and guiding the community members about standards, maintenance, smearing and the use of ash to eliminate flies and smell in their homes, because kibo cannot forget to teach them its importance in their latrines, because that’s the only process in which they can reduce smell and diseases like diarrhea and typhoid in their village. The community members are willing to work on their sanitation facilities, because they have seen the value of them. And kibo also is willing to work with them, until they well complete those home facilities. Martin and the group walked in 35homes
