- Notes
- Tape and Jeska went to the village purposely to guide the community members while they build their own energy saving stoves. When they arrived there, they found that the members had split into two groups whereby one had gone to the other home at the lower part of the village while the other group remained at the upper side.
Both groups had already arranged the materials for building the stoves in each home. Tape went to the lower side of the village and joined the members in stamping the dirt while Jeska remained at the upper side. Kibo staff led the two groups by guiding them as they began building the stoves, they kept on correcting the mistakes they made while building the stoves which was very important because most of them had not mastered all the skills perfectly especially for the new members who had just joined the group.
Each member was given a chance to participate in the stove building process such as cutting the banana stems and hitting the dirt on the floor. Finally two stoves were built on that day making the members dance and sing songs of joy. They thanked kibo staff for the lessons that day promising to keep practicing building on their own whenever they got free time.
Kibo staff thanked all the members for participating and requested them to maintain the same spirit of working together for an effective development in their village. Tape and Jeska left the village then.
