To check on Life Skills Progression in the previous School.
Manuela went to New buyanga Primary School to check on Life Skills program in that school, this exercise encourages the school life skills teacher to go on and teach the pupils because they know they are not left alone.
When Manuela reached the school, actually she found pupils in class learning life skills lessons because they always learn it on Friday. Manuela was so impressed because she did not call the school to inform them that she was coming but she found pupils learning.
When she entered the class , pupils were very happy to see her again. Manuela greeted them and requested them to seat down, then the Life Skills teacher well come Her, she-gave her chance to teach , Manuela taught the pupils about communication skills.
Be Manuela could start teaching, She started by asking the pupils some questions, for example, what is Life Skills? What are the four types of Life skills? What are the importance of Abstinence?And among others, pupils were able to share their ideas about what their life skills teachers taught them.
After that, Manuela taught the pupils communication skills, she emphasized mostly on Assertive massages as the beast way of communicating with one another. Assertive behavior means being confident and telling some one exactly what they want Manuela went on and told the pupils to always be confident in any situation for example saying no for no and yes for yes.
While teaching, Manuela encouraged the pupils to try and speak English so that to write good sentences in English in their exam. She also told the pupils to say no to early sex so that they can free from early pregnancy, marriages and sexually transmitted for example, diseases Syphilis, gonorrhea and HIV/AIDS.
Finally Manuela appreciated the the teachers for the great work they are doing, she also encouraged the primary seven to read hard so that they can pass with flying colors.
Next Visit: 2019-10-21 - Purpose: To monitor and evaluate pupils general understanding about Life Skills program.
