Notes
Topic: Community meeting. Overview. One of Mvule community development program’s need is to hold community meetings because we believe that through this, relationships are built and the spirit of working together as s community is instituted in every member. Introduction: Abraham,Chris and Brayden reached Kivule at 12 pm and we found an overwhelming number of community members already waiting for us. Before we could start the meeting, every member wanted us to go around and look at how their Mvule trees were growing, it was encouraging for us to see how determined the residents were. The chairman started the meeting at 1:30 by welcoming every member including the visitors. He thanked Kibo staff for getting some time to hold a community meeting with them and also bringing them visitors. The chairman updated the members where he has reached with registration of the group with the district, he said members were cooperating well in contributions and the only thing remaining was to bind their constitution and take it to the CDO (Community Development Officer) for approval and then take it to the district. The chairperson promised us that he will have gotten the certificate before our next visit. The chairman then introduced Abraham and requested him to speak to the members. Abraham thanked every member for cooperating and loving and sharing the love of God. He emphasized the need to acknowledge God whatever they achieved and the need to love their enemies and always pray for them. While Abraham gave out pictures of a Good Samaritan to members to shade, he asked them to think about it in their minds how they would help each other or how they would like to be helped just like Good Samaritan, it was so fun and interesting to see members reminding themselves about those good old school times when they shared the crayons. It was amazing to see members who have not being seeing eye to eye sharing crayons for the first time a thing that reminded us that indeed small things matter when we do them for Christ. Conclusion: Abraham reminded the community members to think about something they can do together as a group, he said it could be poultry, growing beans or something else . The chairperson person said they met as a group and decided that they will set up a piggery project but Abraham advised them to analyze there project very well before they can make a decision. Abraham reminded the chairperson to bind the community constitution and work on the registration of the group with the district before our next visit.
