- Notes
- Enock and Martin went to this community to continue teaching, encouraging, monitoring, mobilizing, guiding, And sensitizing the residents about the importance of sanitation and hygiene. They walked around the village to check on latrine construction, dish rack, shower areas, kitchen areas, rubbish pit and also encouraging those families without the facilities to continue them. They taught about the core importance of sanitation and hygiene, talked about the many diseases which come due to poor sanitation and reminding them about the expenditure and expenses they do on medication which has brought continuous poverty, child neglect, divorces and many more. There are so many good dish racks which are up to standard, many new latrines which have been constructed and all in use. We focused on those homes which are still having pits but not yet constructed, we also focused on homes which are slow and encouraging them to have pick axes to construct good standard structures and use of string materials like cement and sand to construct. There are many people who are using cement on their shower areas and also making good drainage systems to drain the water well for the showers as we taught them how to dig and construct soak pits.
The leaders in this community have been supportive to the program and encouraging each other to continue improving their sanitation.
