Notes
Manuela went to Bukoma c to introduce life skills lessons, when Manuela reached the village she found the chairman and other three gentleman seated waiting for her, she greeted them, then Manuela told the chairman that they should move around and remobilize members, Manuela and chairman moved and managed to get some people who were able to come and attend the class. During the session, Manuela started by asking the members if their children have ever told them about what they are learning in school, four parents said yes and they told them that Manuela and Lorna will be coming to teach them in the village. After Manuela asked the parents that who many people want this program to be extended to the community members? They said yes! Though people were very few people who attend this class because majority of the members had gone for a burial in the nearby village, Manuela introduced the topics to them and also explained to them them importance of life skills education to them and their children. Manuela explained all the topics in the manual and the lessons too, while explaining members were interrupting her with so many questions for example that if you teach about HIV how will the people living with the virus feel? Manuela told them that when she start teaching this lesson, she will not point at any body, that you have it or you don’t have it that will not happen, this lesson is educate people to understand how the HIV is transmitted, prevented and how can they positively so that they live longer. They were happy to listen to what Manuela was explaining to them. Finally Manuela encouraged the community members to come and attend Life Skills program because it is good and so educative.
