- Notes
- Alex first completed with the household survey in the homes that had remained in the upper section. He reached 31 homes. On a good note, many homes have tried to maintain some facilities and others are slowly breaking down. He continued to remind the people to keep up the good sanitation standards in all their homes. He then went to meet with the people in the lower part of the village where Kibo put a new borehole. He first checked the completed fence and told them to fill up the soak pit with stones and clean up the borehole compound. The meeting begun really late because most of the people delayed to arrive for the meeting. Alex only talked about how it was very important that every one in the community to show equal responsibility towards their borehole and to maintain the good hygiene standards in their homes to ensure a safe clean water chain in the community. The community members were also reminded of their responsibilities and roles like attending all the borehole meetings, pay borehole fees, clean their jerrycans, sweep the borehole compound and have respect for one another. Because of time, they couldn’t come up with the borehole bylaws and this was pushed to the next meeting. The community will most likely start to use this borehole next week if they meet all the requirements.
