WASH is currently evaluating sample villages where we left one year ago to determine the level of sanitation sustainability in the village. Nawandyo B is one village which WASH selected to test the level of sanitation sustainability in the village. 23 homes were reached to evaluate all the sanitation facilities in those homes. There is a very good picture in general seen with many homes still having maintained their standards. There were about 4 homes with some challenges like pit latrines collapsing because of the rains. One person was met reconstructing a new pit latrine in place and majority have endeavored to replace their old sanitation facilities. Alex encouraged the village leaders to remain active and ensure the village maintain the required sanitation standards.
