Learning Objectives
To educate women about roles and responsibilities of a good mother.
Notes
Introduction Manuela, Irene and Justine went to Kivule village to teach women about roles and responsibilities and proper up bringing their their children. Due to so-many problems that women in the village are going through they end up forgetting some of their role and responsibilities in their homes. Overview When Manuela, Irene and Justine arrived at the village, they did not find any body at the meeting point, they tried to move around and mobilize members, most of the women were still in the garden, after 30 minutes, they started to come and they came in large numbers. Manuela started introducing the team she went with on that to the community members, she went on and told them what they have come to do on that day, after that, Manuela asked the members to remind her about previous lesson that they learnt. Four women tried to share their views about what they learnt. After all that, Manuela invited Irene to start teaching, she by interacting with the women about their homes and children which wS good, after that she went straight to the the lessons, Irene taught about importance of parenting, she asked what should a mother do immediately that she has realize that she is pregnant? They were so surprised to be asked such a question, one said you go to the hospital for medical check up and start antenatal exercise, another one said that you start buying the clothing and others also were also saying the sam, Irene went on and told the mothers that it’s very important to be careful during that time because they are vey vulnerable to disease. She also advised the mothers to pay close monitoring to their children more especially the girl child and the teenager girls , she also told them to be free with their girls so that they tell them their problems in case they are in trouble. She also advised the mothers to be clean and smart all the time. After that, Manuela invited Justine to also teach the mothers about good quality of a good mother, she started by reviewing what Irene taught, then after she asked women who a good mother should be? They said that she should be hardworking mother, God fearing mother, respectable mother, after listening to the mothers views, just appreciated them for ideas, and said, a good mother should also be a good teacher, a good counselor, smart and clean and a good mother should also be patient in times of trouble and happiness. Finally, Manuela appreciated the women attending this class, she also appreciated the team that she came with, she told that this lesson with continued in the next visit.
