Notes
It was good to arrive in the village and found ten women seated waiting for Manuela at the meeting point, they were happy to see her and quickly Manuela went to them she greeted them and sat down. Manuela went to teach about Women and HIV lessons. This lesson help the community members to understand that if they don’t treat sexually transmitted diseases it can become a chronic to them which is not good. Objective By the end of the day, community members will be to know why is it important to treat sexually transmitted diseases a soon as possible. By the end of the lesson, participants will be able to know what is the relationship between HIV/ AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases. Overview When Manuela reached the village, she found some members at the meeting point waiting for her, she greeted them, and she asked them that where are other people, they told her that they are coming, after few minutes they started to come and they came in large numbers. When the turn up was good, Manuela decided to start her lesson, she started by asking the participants questions, that what are sexually transmitted diseases? They mentioned some for example, syphilis, Candidates, Gonorrhea and among others , Manuela went on and asked the members that how do those diseases catch people? They said through sexual intercourse with an infected person, Manuela asked them that is there any other way that disease can also be transmitted? They did not respond. After their reactions, Manuela explained to the community members that even that disease can be got in bathrooms, latrine mostly it catch women during that time in those areas. She also said that even men can still catch it if they are not careful, Manuela also advised the mother to clean their babies properly for example they should clean starting from front to back wards. She also told them that, they should try and spread their knickers under sunshine at least once in the month. Manuela went on and said that it is so good to go the hospital and examine their urine and blood, if they are infected they should start treatment in time. Manuela also said if someone is HIV positive, they should be careful, they should avoid re effecting themselves because the white blood cells will take most of the time fighting other sexually transmitted diseases instead of fighting the virus, this can make human body week and the viral load can go higher, then HIV virus will gain host hence leading to the death of the human body. Finally, Manuela advised them to always go to the hospital for medical check up.,
