- Notes
- Suzan went to the upper side of the village to monitor the progress of the healthy and safe kitchen program and the stove usage. On arriving there, she went straight to the chairperson’s home madam kansime and met her with a few members discussing about the program activities.
The ladies were pleased to see Suzan and together sat down, exchanged greetings and began discussing about the program activities carried out so far. They talked about some challenges they faced like the termites eating up their dish racks, stoves cracking and unable to cook faster. Suzan advised them to always smear their stoves twice in a month so as to avoid cracks and to also to try building movable dish racks.
They later on got up and began moving around the village visiting home to home while monitoring different program facilities such as the stoves, shower areas, latrines, dish racks, rubbish pits and kitchens. Some members had maintained all their facilities and improved on their sanitation and hygiene which was so impressive. A few members who participated in the program activities had poor and spoilt facilities such as the stoves, bathrooms and kitchens which needed to be smeared and roofed.
Suzan requested them to repair and improve on their general sanitation and hygiene so as to live a better healthy life with their families. She thanked all the members for coming to the meeting and encouraged them to go ahead and build stoves for money at their neighboring village. The meeting finally came to an end.
