Notes
Alex B met thirty community members about how they will care for the mvule and musizi trees they planted. These were given to them by kibo group.
The meeting was attended by Balinaine the VHT of the community. He is one of those who planted the trees. The report he gave was that the trees were doing good though with challenges .He said some of them didn’t observe the distance from one tree to another as they were planting.
Tulibagenye one of the community leaders said the challenges of putting back the soil after planting. He said some trees where they were planted can not receive enough sunshine. The other issue should is that materials for putting hedges around the trees are scarce and not available. He said to those that planted along the paths.
Alex B told those that attended the meeting not to leave weeds around the trees they planted. He also advised them to remove those trees that were planted close to each other to space them. That will help them to grow properly as they use the same piece of land. The tree to grow to a big stem and long one,the tree must have enough space from each other.
Those that attended the meeting agreed to mobilize the rest of members to attend the next meeting. They want to learn how to make better hedges for protecting the trees. The best way of watering the trees like it should be done. They promised to attend and keep time for the meeting.
