Notes
Suzan went to the upper side of the village to monitor the stove usage and the maintenance of the other program facilities such as the shower areas, latrines, kitchens, rubbish pits and dish racks. When she got there, she went to the program secretary madam Betty who was just coming from her garden while other members were also sitting under a mango tree next to her house. They warmly welcomed Suzan and after exchanging greetings, they agreed to walk around the village that day with the intentions of visiting each member’s home at the upper section of the village, but according to the observations, it had heavily rained in the village in that most crops and home facilities had been destroyed which was so sad to see. As they moved around visiting different homes, they noticed that some facilities such as the dish racks, shower areas, latrines and kitchens were in a poor state because of the previous storms and the members were busy rebuilding them. Some stoves were also destroyed because of the rains which washed off the kitchen roofs. Suzan was so sympathetic with the whole situation and after consoling them, she advised the members to try and form a group or circle whereby they would fundraise some money for each member and buy a few building materials such as sand, bricks and cement with the aim of building stronger buildings which would not easily be washed away by the rains. Some members bought the idea and promised to share it with their fellow members who were absent that time. Suzan also encouraged them to never give up on the natural calamities but instead keep smearing all their buildings and stoves because smearing the facilities oftenly made them last longer. The members thanked Suzan for the advice promising to do so for a better healthy living, and the meeting finally came to an end.
