- When Tom, Henry and the visitors (Devine water visitors) arrived in the village, they found when the chairman and the committee members had gathered at the chairman’s place. After greetings, the visitors asked the chairman how kibo and sanitation improvements have impacted their lives.
The chairman narrated how they were before kibo came to there village were he pointed to low latrine coverage as well as other facilities and how now the Latrice covered is so high and diseases have been reduced.
The chairman said people give testimonies about how now they are having less diseases. The visitors thanked the chairman for his dedicated work and his committee members and encouraged him to continue working and encouraging his village.
After the discussion, the chairman let them around the village showing them new latrine, new dish racks, latrines with iron sheets that kibo helped with them as well as hand washing stands.
Tom also explained to the visitors why Kibo’s new hand washing promotion model is better and explained to them how the hand washing stands work. The chairman also showed them the trees kibo has given through the Mvule program as well as the wash program. They moved around and saw some latrines that had collapsed a night before due to rains but also found one of the residents working hard to reconstruct the collapse latrine. They also visited the water point were the borehole will be drilled and they were very thankful that the village will be able to get clean water.
After moving the visitors were given a wonderful meal at the chairman’s place and after they left for jinja.
