Notes
Alex was in Igerera B village to facilitate the process of land agreement signing and witness the land owner willingly give away a portion of his land to the village to access water from the new well that has been drilled by Kibo group. It’s mandatory to have a land agreement signed on by the land owner to show that he/she willingly has given a piece of land for his village to access water. Also this avoids personal ownership of the well since someone might develop a feeling that because is on his land, then he owns that well and will refuse some people to access the water point. This promotes village ownership because everyone will then know that they have a sense of belonging and ownership of the well. Mr. Wilson the land owner agreed to give a 20ft by 30ft to his village and his next of kin also signed on the land agreement form. The village leader was also available to witness this process and he appreciated Wilson for such a good heart he has for his village. Two access routes were also given to people to use while fetching water from this new well. Alex also continued to encourage the water user committee to keep working together and play their roles as required. The village need to continue working together to make sure to raise all the funds needed. Kibo group will go back to continue encouraging the village to work together and prepare the village for the next steps in borehole installation as well as training of the water committee. Also on Avery good note, the heavy rains still going on have damaged some pit latrines but something good happening is that these people quickly replace them and re-construct the structures that have collapsed. This shows behavior change in this village and the village leadership has continued to be very active encouraging the village on maintaining the sanitation and hygiene facilities
