Notes
Jessica and Suzan went to the village to guide the community members how to build the fuel efficient stoves on their own. When the arrived their, they found the members already gathered at one of the homes where the energy saving stove was going to be built. The members got excited when they saw Kibo staffs and began singing and dancing while coming towards them. Suzan and Jessica thanked the members for the good work carried out so far and the chairperson informed them how they had already built some two stoves early that morning and were now remaining with two more. The members were divided into two groups whereby one went to another home while the other stayed back and built two fuel stoves. This was important because it quickened the work and also enabled each one to participate in the stove building activities. Some members especially the men had improved in some steps like cutting, measurements and fixing the banana stems at the right positions which was a bit tricky. Other members needed more practice because they were slow learners who needed time most especially the women. Each group worked so hard with their leaders and under the guidance of Kibo staff until they completed building two efficient fuel stoves. Suzan advised the members to always maintain all their facilities by smearing and repairing them once in a while because it would enable them live a happy healthy life with their families. The members were so excited upon finishing all the four stoves in one day and sung songs praising Kibo group for the educative programs introduced in their community. The chairperson thanked Kibo staff for the visit and lessons that day and the meeting came to an end finally.
