- Notes
- Ida went to Sinde with Rebecca and Hope.
Ida has been teaching about how to raise local chickens and also encouraged communities to always have plan B for the better of community development.
This time the focus was on building the coops. It was hard to decide where to build the coop sample from. They had to cast votes in order to have a fare exercise.
A coop is a small house built for chics to stay in during day time in order to avoid wild animals from eating them when looking for food in the bushes.
After taking a lot of time voting, the chairperson asked the community to first listen to the suggestion he was bringing. He suggested that the demo chicken coop be built at Isaac’s home where the stove demo is. Secondly Isaac already has chics and is going to provide all materials needed.
The whole group was happy and seconded the idea.
The only problem people didn’t bring the logs because others forgot, rains were much that they were not able to go to the bush, so the chairperson requested the exercise to be done next time. And also not many people came because were planning on going to other groups where they saved for Christmas packages. These people saved from January for things like sugar, soap, cooking oil, clothes and cows. This was the day for giving out the monies that each member saved that they may go and do shopping. This exercise affected Ida’s lesson but the few who came were able to do some reviews on the previous lessons.
Ida told them that Kibo was going for Christmas holidays for some few weeks but will resume work on 7th January 2020.
