Notes
Introduction Since Life Skills has successfully phased out of Bukhana Primary School, the program is looking at focusing in the community. Overview Lorna and Manuela have had lessons in this village before and they were going well until the turn up of the community was not that good and therefore Life Skills pulled out for a while so as to give the community time to do what they were doing. It was a busy season for them and seems their focus was lying else where. Today Lorna made a visit to this village to talk with the chairman and the secretary to forge a way forward about Life Skills Program in this village. When Lorna arrived the village and drove straight to the chairman’s place, she was disappointed that he was not there and yet they agreed to meet at his home. Lorna decided to reach him on phone and he apologized but told Lorna to go ahead and meet with the Secretary Mr.Ndabe. Lorna went to Mr.Ndabes home and they had a chat where Lorna told him of Kibo’s plans to resume the program. She asked him hybthe turnip suddenly went down and yet things were going on well. He said maybe the chairman got too busy to inform the committee on time , he also said the women in this village are more hardworking than the men whereby you find that they are busy in the gardens and since it was the planting season that’s why they may have reduced on their attendance. He also mentioned something nice that the women are struggling hard to see to it that everyone is working hard to keep their children in and at school which was good to hear. She asked about the men and he said well them too. Lorna also asked how are the children doing or behaving this holiday and he smiled and said they are doing well no problems which was good. Lorna then asked what was the way forward?, he said well he cannot decide this on his own but that they are having a meeting as a whole committee of 11 people on a Sunday the 19 of Jan and he will bring this up so they chew on it to pave a way forward and will give her feedback. Lorna said that will be good since the plan is to resume on the 27 of January 2020. Conclusion Lorna will call back to get feedback from the meeting and make a plan to resume the lessons.
