Notes
Ida went to Sinde to demonstrate a chicken coop, unfortunately, she found one of the member’s daughter very sick and was laid outside in the compound. Ida at first thought that the girl was dead because some cultures in Uganda mourn from outside. She asked what was the problem and the mother said that the girl was throwing up so badly and diorrating. As soon as Ida asked the girl stood up and started running to the latrin but couldn’t control the flow. Ida was scared thinking it was cholera. She didn’t know what to do since she didn’t have gloves, any kind of sanitizer, or anything to keep her safe from getting cholera. She texted Henry for some advice but there was no network in Sinde. Ida decided to call a bodaboda to take the victim to the nearest health unit. The bodaboda guy came and took the girl to the clinic that was closed because the nurses had gone for a burial ceremony which was few meters away from the health center. This was also the reason as to why men didn’t show up for the lesson because they were digging the grave. The victim was in a critical condition and the nurses aren’t around, Ida asked the bodaboda to take the girl to Namayingo which is the referral hospital for that region. Ida followed them to hospital and left when they had given the girl some first aid. It was coming late so Ida left for Jinja.
