Healthy and Safe Kitchens
Notes
Harriet went to kiteigalwa to disseminate evaluation findings to the community and this was intended for them to understand how they are progressing with the healthy and Safe kitchen program and also to help them improve in the weak areas. She was welcomed by the Chairperson of the group Kamida. She read the findings to the community where by she read a name and present and absent home facilities. One of the member called Sahara told Harriet that after the evaluation participants worked hard to ensure that what they were found missing in their homes are put in place. Nawumbye testfied that the evaluation process influenced her husband to build for her a latrine and shower area because he did not what to face what may follow after evaluation ( he thought he might be arrested) They also said that all the homes now cook on their fuel efficient stoves which has reduced the number of trees being cut in the village since the stove uses less firewood. They also told her that every home has been smeared , constructed a fire wood risen which which they are now using during this rainy season. Harriet encouraged them to keep on replacing wood when ever they use firewood.she also encouraged them to keep on smearing their facilities for sustainability. Also reminded them to follow up with each, guide and encourage each other where necessary.
