Notes
Abraham and Chris met thirty three BukomaC community members and the purpose was to discuss how they are going to give loans from their savings. Prior to the meeting the community members had requested Abraham and Chris to visit and guide them on how best they will manage their loan scheme project. The chairperson and his committee managed to mobilize 12 men and 21 women for the meeting which also involved the LC1 chairman, the chairperson thanked Kibo for improving their income levels through helping them realize that they have potential to improve their income levels by teach them how to save some money for the future, however he said as a result of that, the community decided to start up a loans scheme project where members will be able to get soft loans to enhance their small businesses and also take their children to school. The chairperson also said they decided as a community that they would sell off the offsprings of the goats and invest the money back to the loans scheme project and the members will be able to get lenient loans with affordable interest rates on them. The treasurer thanked Kibo for helping them open their bank account a thing he said has helped them keep their money safe and so for that reason they are able to do business with other big companies within the community because now they have their bank account and the constitution plus the registration certificate from the district. The treasurer also informed Abraham and Chris that the community members came up with trusted committee of members that will help to see that their money is used well and those who take loans don’t default . Abraham advised the members to elect trusted members who will manage their scheme well , Abraham challenged the members to scrutinize the members and vet them well before they give them the loans. Chris also advised the members to find out which purpose the loan every member is taking is going to do before giving it to them. Chris said this will ensure that the loans serve the rightful purpose also to avoid loan defaulters. Abraham and chris promised to invite the CDO for the next meeting on 21/02/2020 to continue discussing how the community members will come up with the bylaws governing their loan scheme project.
