Notes
Martin went to Mpumiro, he walked around with the Chairman LC1 and the VHTs. Their intention was to check on the sanitation improvement in that village. Good enough the big number of homes have worked on their new latrines like digging them, and others have constructed their latrines and others have worked on other sanitation facilities like kitchens, rubbish pits, and shower facilities. And due to the heavy rain, they had last week, other facilities like kitchens, latrines and shower areas was destroyed by that rain. So the group decided to encourage the residents about replacing them in a shot time. But group realized that those facilities was not constructed in a good standards, so the group decided to work around that village to encourage the community members about the standard, maintenance and smearing to make those facilities strong and clean. As the group was continuing to work around that village, the Chairman LC1 received a phone call from his son that his grandson died in Mukono Hospital. So they decided to stop their, for the Chairman to go home and prepare for the burial ceremony. Martin was supposed to attend the that burial, but due to the distance from Namutumba to Jinja, and even the dead body was coming from a long distance to reach to Mpumiro. And it was also a bit late, and it was around 2:30 pm. So the group decided to stop there, they walked in 20homes and Martin left the village.
